First stop in New York was here. We saw this place on Instagram and couldn't believe how delicious the food looked. We waited in line outside for about an hour before we were allowed to go in and decide what we wanted. One thing I liked about this place is that they didn't serve alcohol, but the liquor store is across the street and you were allowed to bring your own booze. Onto the food now I have to say the scallops were probably the best scallops I've ever had so tender and flavorful. I didn't love my shrimp because I found it to be a little dry and overcooked however, everything else made up for it.

Good lord is this place delicious. A little bit of a long haul to get seated and eat but worth every second of the wait. Also don't forget your wallet, because seafood isn't cheap.(not just here but everywhere obvi) I love that this place is a seafood market meets a restaurant. First you wait in a line to order. Then you order right from the seafood counter and go into the second line where you wait for your table. At first this seemed like an annoyance but then it quickly was a relief to know that we'd have a table when our food was ready. We ordered the herring salad , the tahini, and Greek salad to start. Everything was amazing. Then came the grilled and fried calamari, broiled scallops, large prawn and grilled shrimp. My only complaint is I would have ordered even more seafood like lobster tail and king crab!! (Kidding/not kidding but our bill was already getting a bit pricey....but you get what you pay for!) Will be back here again and again!!

The best seafood in all of the land and I'll stand on that! Mind you, this place always has a line out the door regardless of the time of day, so I like to go right when they open and enjoy their affordable lunch special. Today I ordered the grilled salmon, which came with 2 sides and turned out to be $20 (truly a steal)! My friend really enjoyed their shrimp too, I will definitely be a regular. So fresh, so good!

PS Lunch special is $18.49 & it's a delicious deal. You get seafood & two sides. I ordered salmon & mousaka & grilled eggplant as I live eggplant. Can't be beat!

The most satisfying part of Hamido is the fact you feel like you're on vacation away from NYC. You'll feel like a tourist transported to Egypt, eating fresh seafood that's seasoned to perfection, surrounded by culture and local music. Everything was amazing from scallops, branzino, clams to the giant shrimp. Hamido is worth the wait and the dining experience is more vibrant than any fancy restaurant can provide.

It is a very casual, chaotic, but pretty tasty seafood restaurant. If a casual family dinne or a goip of hungry friends dinner, it is recommended but not romantic or fine atmosphere dinner to enjoy dinner time experience. Ambiance is like a college cafeteria. The food is pretty good and the price is 1/2 -1/3 compared with fine beautiful restaurants. Service is also casual but warm. It seems like SNS introduced this place, and it is very busy with a long wait by sitting outside weird steel chairs like covid vaccination wait. Overall, it is a super casual setting, but it is fine to hit this place to get some fresh seafood and very tasty green juice.

Hamido Seafood Restaurant is in Astoria, Queens. We visited there after attending the YEE @ Earth & Me. This was my first time at Hamido. Although this establishment is popular and gets crowded quickly, I can say that it was a good dining experience. Once we arrived at Hamido, our name was added to the table list. Once you get inside Hamido, you wait on line to place your seafood order. Fresh seafood is displayed. Patrons can select the exact piece of seafood requested (ex. salmon, shrimp, lobster, etc.) and choose how they want to have it cooked. We ordered Red Snapper, Branzino & each had half a pound of Scallops. They food is then sent to be seasoned / prepared and then sent to your table. Side dish orders are placed w/ the server at your dining table. All I can say is Wow!!!!. The complimentary bread was so good. We had Red Snapper & Branzino, both cooked Sengari Style (butterflied baked & topped w/ tomato, bell peppers, onions & carrots), broiled well-seasoned scallops, along w/ a side of rice & their seasoned french fries. It all tasted amazingly delicious! Hamido's Signature Mint Lemonade is something that has to be ordered - so refreshing! Others at our table had shrimp & Hamido's Shrimp & Linguine dish - everybody enjoyed their food. Pick up & Delivery is available every day.

Delicious food and good service! There is a lunch special for just under $19 that comes with a seafood dish and 2 small sides (see my photos below for reference) The ambiance is low key and casual. It has a high noise level, especially since it's packed with people. The seafood on display smell fresh, and when cooked, taste fresh too! I'd recommend it if you love seafood and you're looking for a casual spot.
